2016 Spring Mayor’s Summit

On behalf of Mayor Marcey Gregory, City of Goddard; Mayor Terry Somers, City of Mount Hope; and Mayor Jeff Longwell, City of Wichita, you are cordially invited to attend the spring 2016 Mayor’s Summit. The Summit is a chance for Mayors in South Central Kansas to get to know each other and share ideas. There will be discussion about regional initiatives currently under way to grow jobs and create new business that impact our shared economy.

The 2016 Spring Mayor’s Summit is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 W Museum Blvd., Wichita, KS 67203. The morning begins with a breakfast courtesy of Westar Energy at 7:30 a.m. and discussion of regional topics at 8:00 a.m. The Summit will adjourn by 9:30 a.m.

Regional discussions about common issues is crucial for a successful area economic development plan. Anyone can see from the attached chart, job growth is an important issue for all of us in South Central Kansas. The agenda for the summit includes conversations about strategies being implemented to stimulate job growth in the region and a presentation by Jeff Fluhr about the Greater Wichita Partnership. In addition, there will be discussion on legislative impacting local government’s finances.
